Cleaning & Exams
Dental prophylaxis, or ‘cleanings’, is the removal of soft deposits (dental plaque), and hardened plaque (tartar) from above and slightly below the gums, and in between teeth.
Cosmetic Dentistry
With the ongoing advancement of materials and technology in dentistry and in particular, cosmetic dentistry, it is imperative to keep up with the latest trends and services. Dr. Burkett strives to provide her patients with the best options for each patients’ particular needs.
Periodontal/Gum Therapy
Periodontal (gum) therapy is the removal of soft deposits (dental plaque), and hardened plaque in individuals who have lost the supporting bone around the teeth.
Teeth Whitening
Custom-fitted home whitening trays are available with the whitening solution. We also provide in-office whitening appointments, with or without the home trays (for touch-ups)
Veneers
Permanently whiten, and in some cases, straighten your teeth using veneers. Veneers fix spaces and chips with minimal tooth reduction, if any. Veneers mask intrinsic stains, and can also lengthen short teeth. No shots necessary.
Crown and Bridge
Crowns, or caps, cover the entire tooth when the tooth is compromised with a large filling. When a tooth has a large filling breaks or chips, usually the portion of the tooth that is broken is the tooth, not the filling. Crowns are also placed on teeth that have had root canal treatment because of a probable fracture.
Bridges are used to replace a missing tooth or teeth by placing crowns on both sides of a space where a tooth was extracted. The space is filled in with a bridge tooth, and it is connected to the two crowns.
Implant Restorations
Dental implants are placed in the jaw to replace missing teeth. Once healed, the implants are fitted with implant crowns to restore proper form and function of the teeth that were missing.
Comprehensive Treatment Planning
Our practice creates detailed treatment plans for something as simple and focused as a filling or as detailed and elaborate as a full-mouth rehabilitation. After an assessment process (exam and x-rays), Dr. Burkett and our staff will go to work to bring together all aspects of the process from the evaluation findings, to the various options, our recommendations, and financial aspects (costs, insurance coverage, financing options) as well as consulting with any potential outside dental or medical specialists who may need to be involved in the treatment.
We will then present the treatment plan to the patient (and parents/guardians when necessary) to discuss all of the options, pros/cons of the various aspects and then work with the patient to determine a course of action to resolve their oral health needs.
